Hank and Charlie pay a visit to the home of a rich would-be investor who gets overly excited after a reading of Hank’s script. Meanwhile, Karen gets equally excited at Becca’s band practice.

Hank’s troubles with Mia seem to be over, but after taking his lawyer out to celebrate, he has to talk a drug-addled Mia down from a window ledge.

Photographic evidence of Hank’s three-in-a-bed experience with Mia and Sasha surfaces. Elsewhere, Hank’s lawyer decision to drop him as a client makes the author realise that he has finally hit rock bottom.

Forced by her relationship with Hank to recuse herself as his lawyer, Abby tries to hand over the case to a senior partner on the golf course, with disastrous results. Hank is dismayed by Karen’s growing relationship with artist Ben. Charlie rescues Marcy and Stu when they dry up pitching a TV project.

4.09 – Another Perfect Day (aired on March 6, 2011)

Hank gets kicked out of the hotel for not paying the bills, Becca crashes his car, and Charlie and Marcy’s attempts to behave like adults quickly disintegrate.

4.10 – The Trial (aired on March 13, 2011)

A nervous Hank discovers that he’s got good reason to panic when his trial turns into an all-out character assassination, with even friendly witnesses Charlie and Karen are unable to portray him as anything other than a drunken, oversexed lout.

After Hank is found guilty, he considers absconding before the sentence is passed, but ends up accepting an invitation to a ‘Hank is Innocent’ party at Charlie’s place.
